Dear Mountain City Elementary Families,
We are excited to welcome you and your family to another wonderful school year. At MCE, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, challenged, and supported. As proud Jr. Longhorns, we are committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while building a strong foundation for lifelong success.
Everything we do is guided by our Jr. Longhorn H.E.R.D. core values of Honesty, Effort, Responsibility, and Determination. These values help shape the culture of our school and encourage students to become confident learners and caring members of our community.
Our teachers are dedicated to providing every child with high quality instruction through research based best practices and meaningful relationships. As a proud partner in ETSU's Resilient Schools Initiative, we embrace trauma informed practices and understand the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs. We believe that when students feel safe, connected, and supported, they are better prepared to learn and succeed.
